same mileage, same non silver rose, same condition. How much different in price should they be?
No 030 or LSD on S2 vs standard 951S.

Hmm...I'm pretty sure the 90 & 91 S2's are more rare then a 951S.
I paid $8k for a well sorted and very up to date car. Needed lots of little things (light bulbs, and extensive detailing work). Had it been the way I got it to, it would have been a $10k car.
I totalted it, and insurance valued it at about $11.9k, stock. No B&B cat-back, saratoga top, or 993 Hollow spoke wheels. With those items, they were valuing my car in the $15k's. It was a nice car. One of the best maintained and running examples of an S2 I have seen.
However, I feel a '91 S2 in comparable shape to a 951S is always going to be about 2-3k less. Have to figure the LSD trans, the M030 and the fact it's a turbo s is going to give that 2-3k margin in the price.
However, both are exquisite clubs to belong to. The '90/'91 S2 models, only 1000 of them came to the U.S. in coupe form. I'm sure '88 951S/ '89 951 production numbers are higher (werent there 7XX Turbo S for '88?).
Now if comparing an '89 S2, I would probably drop the price another 500-750 bucks. It just doesn't have the same rarity as the '90/'91 models. And, I know the 90's are more rare then the 91's, but I still value a '91 more. It has the S2 bridge spoiler, and is the last year for the 944.
So for me-
'91 S2 - ~2k less
'90 S2 - ~2.5k less
'89 S2 - ~3k less
I'm talking about cars in comparable condition and maintenace. However, it is such a hard thing to compare due to so few examples. Naturally, a 100k+ mile S2 isn't going to compare to a 60-70k mile Turbo S (as in, to me...I'd be looking at more then a 3k price difference due to mileage).

I don't know that "rarity" is going to add anything for a race car. Typically I have seen 951's that are equally prepared to the S2's go for a bit more money but not much. I have a red 951S racecar for sale in WI. When I was in Chicago I moved to the S2 to race in the same class w/a bunch of friends.
Now that I'm in Colorado the turbo would really be a blast. If it doesn't sell I may bring it out here for a few local races.

I haven't raced out here with the 951 or the S2 but my 993 and Cayenne sure seem to suffer! The upside is that I get 25 mpg coming down the mountains in the Cayenne :-)

I don't think you can put a dolar amount on it, however from what I have noticed equal cars teh 951S goes for a bit more. Both cars are awesome cars and all the S2 and turbo cars are relatively rare, especially in nice shape.
