Default F20C in a 944?

Yeah, that's right- has anyone ever swapped or thought about swapping an F20C(Honda S2000 engine) into a 944? The idea of this swap has been in the back of my mind ever since I got my 944 last August. Does anyone know if it would even fit? I know it's sorta sacrilegious to put a Japanese engine in a Porsche but I think it would be real badass. Complete low miles F20Cs are reasonably priced around $4,000 and under from without a transmission what I've seen. Reason I thought about it is because I love high revving, high hp naturally aspirated cars, and Honda makes a great engine. Another alternative would be a V8 I guess, and I definitely do not want to go that route, even though it would be very powerful. I understand a 2.7L engine from a later 944 fits early cars and can make decent power? What do those go for?

If this ever turned into a project, it would be wayyyy down the road since I only have a very small amount of the knowledge and skills required to do such a transplant. I know its easier to just buy an S2000, but what fun would that be? It would probably be more trouble than it's worth, but I don't care. But again, it would be very cool in my eyes.

Any input is appreciated,
Alex

Well like I said, a V8 isn't really an option for me. I know they are the best bang for the buck option but they aren't really my style. Like I said, I like high revving na engines. VQ35 would be a great swap, na of course. A 20b rotary would be badass too.

Maybe I will just wait till I get an S2000, my original plan was to sell the 944 and get an S2000 down the road anyway.

The good thing is that the LSx engines fit right in. Can't wait.

It can be done much more cheaply if you put the work in.

S2000 motor is fantastic, it would be perfect in an Elise or Caterham...not sure about a 944..they are just asking for LS1's IMHO.

I think and LS1 will give you much more power and be easier to swap in. The F20C is a taller engine than an LS1 block (they are surprisingly compact due to OHV and v formation) - which may not even fit under the hood of 944 without some hood modification.

The F20C is a wonderful engine but it does perfectly fine in the S2000. Just buy one of those if you really want one - you'll save time, money and get probably similar results.

speed force racing claims 740hp from a 350z twin turbo

that and the thing is smaller and lighter than dropping in a 350ci
