Question rotor - can't remove

Early NA - The rotor ( as in dist cap and rotor) has a small allen head bolt that will not budge. I definitely need to replace the rotor. Any suggestions before I hack away?

If it's original, or maybe even otherwise, it's got thread lock on it. You may need to break the rotor off, but once that's done, you can apply some (SOME) heat to the screw/rotor so you can get it out without damaging the threads. The rotors break off easy (as me why I know).

Use a torch. Heat up the rotor and beat it loose.

Same experience here. I essentially had to destroy it to remove it.

Oh yeah, it'll be ruined. Mine broke off with rotor pieces remaining.

Rust = pita.

You can remove the rotor from the car still. It may make it easier to get it off. There is a bolt that holds the rotor and a small piece to the cam shaft. It exposes th camshaft bolt. Take that bolt out and it should slide out.

Thanks everyone who chimed in! I ended up having to break it off. New Distributor cap and rotor solved my rough idle issue!
