Ontario is perhaps one of the worst jurisdictions in North America to own and drive a car, particularly for young ppl. Most provincial highways the maximum speed is 49.7 mph.

Get caught exceeding any speed limit by 31 mph and the cops take your car for a week (you pay all costs and outrageous storage charges), you lose your license for a week, you pay a 10K fine, and they leave you on the side of the road any where in any temperature. Then for the next 3 years your insurance company triples your rate. That's right, for doing 80.7 mph on a paved two lane highway in the middle of nowhere (Ontario 1.5 times the size of Texas) you get all the above. So fellow American readers, AVOID Ontario. It sucks to drive in.

Insurance for young guys is criminal. About 4x what it costs in the US. I pay about double what my sister pays in KY for equal cars and I can't sue if injured unless essentially crippled. No pain and suffering awards are allowed and punitive damages are peanuts if awarded at all.

That I didn't know. I guess even though I gripe about it, turning 40 later this year is a good thing.

Steve...call Chatsworth Ins (now in Owen Sound) ..ask for Scott (he's my neighbour) he got that deal for me. My car was appraised by Peter Plas...he used to own Pete's Autobody...he's a certified car appraiser - it was appraised at $13,500 plus taxes (? not sure why) so replacement insurance is @ $15,000 IIRC.

jerry...did you paint those wheels yet?

Nah I haven't done ANYTHING productive to the car, I have the wheels, a rear turbo underspoiler, a short shift kit, and a 'to do' list which grows every day lol, haven't been able to find the time but I'm hoping for some of that soon.

I hear you...still have the 968 castor blocks to install, motor mounts, adjustable camber plates (to replace upper strut mounts)...etc...plus I'm looking into some re-zinc'd parts for under the hood...plus the euro bumper, some paintwork...
