Checkin' in
Although it probably won't be for that much longer, taking it off the road this winter to work on everything for a few years... Insurance company is raping me for 550 a month when I have a clean record for almost 6 years.

Here in Ottawa...not much for track racing but would be interested in short drives or fun runs. Don't want to run my Supercharger too hot...ha!

WOW! There must be a story there somewhere!

I can solve your problem, turn it into a track car and trailer it to track events - this way insurance is only $600 a year and you'll get to drive it like Porsche intended!

Hmmm lets see...the track

Well I just came back from the ALMS race and they concluded that Mosport (1hr from Toronto) is the fastest track they run on (and many drivers said most fun and challenging)

When you get bored of Mosport, you pack up the car and take it 4 hours to Watkins Glen - one of the best tracks in the USA, then when that gets boring you go to Mt Tremblant, 6 hrs, but one of the best tracks in NA, on your way home stop off at Calabogie, with 26 turns you'll be confused for the first day - but its fun!

The only bad part - we only get April - October as far a season goes - I still manage to get 25-30 days in on average!

Heh the story is 21 year old primary driver on a red Porsche :P

I don't think I'm eligible for special insurance on it because I haven't been insured for 10 years yet

I'm going to see if I can get it bundled with my house maybe I can save some money, if not, then the teardown begins.

Red is right. Mosport is a wonderful track and a great venue. An excellent place for the seasoned racer or the first-time DEer. It's even a great place to camp!

At the PCA race, I noticed a 944 turbo nose in one of the garages... It was probably yours.

Jerry....a classic car is what yours is (15 years old or more)...mine is thru ING and costs me $230 for the year, FULL coverage. All I had to do was have the car appraised. Give it a shot!

Holy smokes, $230 p.a. that's awesome. I (touch wood) have been driving for 20 years and have a good record and the best that i could get was $650 with a $1,500 deductible for a 951 appraised at $12.5K. Time to call ING.

Hey Rick, I've had the 'S3 appraised and I have replacement value insurance, but I can't get classic until I'm 26, some clause about needing 10 years of insured experience or something? I'm not sure, but I'm definitely going to look around after I put the car to sleep for winter.

The classic insurance thing, they say you need 10 yrs "G" license last time I called. They won't even count my G1/G2 period. So Im still waiting to hit 10 yrs too.
