The US Postal service has antiquated tools for shipping, and is generally annoying for integration into any business the ships regularly. I remember this from when I used to work for Computer VARs (value added resellers....the value we added was in marking up the parts and re-shipping them.....great business). In any case, almost no one in that kind of busess bothers with USPS, even if the rates are cheaper. All commercial systems were (at the time) set up for UPS and FedEX only because USPS was such a moving target for shipping automation.

I never accept items shipped UPS. Brokeage fees is a scam. If they sent it US Mail...guess what, no fees...

I had bought some Clutch parts from Markus Blazsak I while back and he instructed me to write " CORE Parts not for Resale" on th box and it did ended up not getting popped for brokerage fees. It still took a few days though. Most recenly I shipped some 944 A/C parts up to Calgary and the buyer wanted USPS strictly. It was resonable and he got them in a 3 days.

Here is some info on Clearance charges for getting packages into Canada:

USPS does not use a broker because Canada Post acts as their agent in Canada. They collect the duties at the post office aqnd charge a small handling fee. Interestingly, the reason that I really like USPS to Canada is that on 1 in 4 shipments that I get they do not ask for duty and taxes. I have had shipments ranging from $20 to $150 where there was simply nothing. I showed up at the post office expecting to pay and they hand me the box and off I go...

Usually USPS is just as fast as UPS too.
