rear suspension drop
trying to check my clutch out, redo the rear main seal and rebuild torque tube.
i have all of the bolts out, and the brakelines disconnected, and cannot see what the suspension is getting hung up on.
i am tryign to use prybars to force the front most arm of the suspension out of its hold from the frame, but it seems to move side to side. am i missing something? i am following clark's garage. my car is an early 85, i have the two UPPER shock bolts out, the 6 from the wheel well sides, and the two large front bolts along with the hard brake lines coming off of the body.
what am i missing? suspension has dropped or rotated about 1 inch down, but the wheel well parts are away about 10 inches or so like it is just swinging.

Check to be sure the parking brake cable mount on the front of the torsion tube assembly isn't getting caught on the chassis stiffener (an aluminum bar bolted to both sides of the trans tunnel just in front of the torsion tube). I have to remove this in order to drop the torsion tube assembly or it gets hung up on it.

i took all the bolts out of the rear suspension on alex's car to pull the torque tube but it stayed up there, i think the years of dirt and grease adhered themselves to the body lol.
just took a big prybar and it came down

the aluminum cross bracket was the trick.
i didnt see it mentioned in any instructions.
seems so far that everythign is all right in my clutch setup, but my clutch fork is pretty well worn on the contact surface of the throw out bearing.
i bought a new fork about 3 years ago that ill be putting in.
looks to be a few hot spots on the flywheel...maybe 2, but i am still guessing that the extreme shudder and chatter are from the main seal hopefully.
looks like the slave was still sealed up and not leaking, and the throwout spins free forever.
i will clean things up in a bit and post pics to see if anyone sees anything wrong.

possible problem found: the rattling i heard? the shudder?
the fingers on the release lever were freaking worn almost all the way through.....
and the aluminum center for the throwout bearing looks like it was catching and galling on the guide tube.
would this do this? what would make it do that? clutch pedal adjusted wrong? heavier force from the spring center clutch?
