Default A/C Delete Bracket - which belt to use?

I have a factory A/C Delete bracket that I am going to install in the next couple weeks, and want to order the correct belt. I don't think I have any bolts with the bracket, can the ones holding the A/C compressor in place work on the delete bracket? How hard is this to do with the car on jack-stands? I have most of the A/C already removed, the condenser core and such has been gone for years now. I just haven't had time to remove the rest.

If there is a belt I can buy locally that's great, otherwise I am assuming the one from Lindsey is fine ($20 though...)?

Thanks!

For a late car you should have a 6 rib... Not positive about the factory bracket but my two cars with aftermarket brackets use a ContiTech 6pk 720. That's a 6 rib 720mm belt. Others have had different results but I was unable to locate a belt short enough locally and had to get one via mail order.

Any idea if this would be the same belt for the factory A/C Delete bracket? I'd hate to order one from Lindsey, at $20+ Shipping, when I know the belt only costs about $5-$8 at an auto parts store.

I guess I could just measure it using a string once I have everything installed, and buy a belt that length, with the correct number of ribs?

Thanks for all the help!

There is a belt available that functions as an AC Delete but no bracket it is necessary. PN 335K5 - $15 at any parts store. Its one rib short, but that doesn't matter and is perfect length as to not need tensioned. Just slap it on and go.

I would look up the belt at Pelican for an 83-85 or so that does not have AC, this should give you the correct belt.

Whats the point of the A/C Delete Bracket then? This would be an option, although - I spent a pretty penny on the factory A/C delete a couple years ago. Would make that investment pretty much worthless! More info would be appreciated. Is the Delete bracket just to help drop the center of gravity then? (Not much obviously, but some)

Some people have had luck getting the belt on without phsicaly moving the Alt down to where it should be, other have had catostrophic failures. Just do it right withough JAMMING a belt on there with NO option for tensioning.
