North Carolina 944 Dismantling....
Hey guys,
Well I settled with the insurance company today 13,365 dollars for my car and 1500 to buy it back. So I'm buying it back to get all that stuff out of it. Next week tuesday through thrusday dave miller, and myself are going to be taking the car apart. If any of you ever want to take one of these things apart to see how it work you are welcome to join us, or if you need some odd part come on down and see if you can get it off the car.
Now to decide what to do next.....

Sounds like you finally got a good settlement... that's great!
One small word of advice - be sure you know how to *unload* the chassis once you're done stripping it. In some areas you may have a hard time finding a yard that will take the whole body. You can cut it up (woohoo - Plasma!), but be sure you file any necessary paperwork to have it properly disposed of by the state DMV/DOT. These laws and practices are in place to prevent chop-shopping, but can hinder even the most honest of folk.
Good Luck!

Skip,
We are working on unloading the chais already, it looks like we might be taking the torch to it, if so I will take pictures, how ever sad they may be, I still think it will be good to ducument. Thanks for the heads up on getting rid of and the DMV
Jason,
I'll do my best to have the next one be even better than the first.

I'd be interested in stopping by, I have my last final tomorrow morning but I should be pretty free after that. Drop me an e-mail, and we'll go from there.

I've absolutely shredded a car before. I'm not joking, there wasnt a piece left that was over 100 lbs. It all started when we decided a Hyundai Stellar would make a good cabrio. Hehe, it was soooo much fun. Oh yeah, we officially took off the "ar" and named her "Stella". Damn, wat a fun burnout machine with no rear shocks and BALD tires. I would do it again. So Ian, once you're done taking the necessary parts off, feel free to experiment (we all know how rare a 951 cab is ). Dont forget to post pics!
