Thumbs up Porsche is bringing back the 996 GT3!

The best Porsche ever if you ask me, maybe they'll finally bring some to the US...

I can't really image calling any of the rear engine lumps one of my favorites, except for the much older ones because they were so cute. They just took too much engineering over and over again to make them handle correctly. Many of the mid and front engine models get my vote.

GT1 98
Carrera GT
914/6
904
924GTP (that was the one that had the 944 proto motor)
924GTS
Virtually any 928

Cars near me:

To start, a Carerra 4

And a 968 Turbo S (1 of 13(methinks))

The engine

An RSR

A GT3, and a geek

And an RS and Turbo pullin' in the rear with a K29 turbo that I rode in this past weekend and pinned at 300Kph!

That 968 Turbo S is scrumdiddilyumptious.

Im still partial to the 951 though. Seems like every small powerful GT coupe since the mid-80s owes its roots to it and tried to copy it, from the fender flares to the bubble rear window to the spoiler all in one package. Hmm.

Id take that 968 Turbo S though.

Wow, that is me in 20 years (I hope!).

996 GT3 is on my list right next to 904.

that's funny. over in the 911 section, when asked what the best porsche was, people usually said, "mine".

<a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=002790" target="_blank">Which is the best 911?</a>

Not fond of them, but I should reserve that statement until *after* I drive or buy one.

I think you need to have that kind of blinkered mentality to drive a 911, otherwise you'd see sense and buy a car with the engine in the right place. <img src="graemlins/roflmao.gif" border="0" alt="[hiha]" />

The 944 Turbo may not be a better car, but I think it is under your circumstances. You can get into a clean example for about half as much as a 964, and the performance is comparable. You can move up to the 911 in--say--5 years, when you're earning more $$.

This post is over at the 964 board under the topic "on a Buget". Sounds like the "move up" is to show you are making more money. I like a 911 and I like a 944, I still don't see why there is this war going on, both cars can be a blast to drive.

Maybe he should just stop shouting at it so much.
