Afterthought: Its funny how many chemistry nerds hang out here when the topic is about NOS and going fast, me included.

My friend ran N20 in his S2000 for about a year, and there's no problems. It was a progressive, computer controlled system though. As long as you're pumping in a reasonable amount, it really won't hurt the engine any more than a turbo or SC.

OT: Chemistry, bleh. I have to take a placement test in the summer. I have a feeling I'm not going to do too good...

Physics is where the money's at! Here's a list of some of the classes I'll have to take for Mech. Engineering at U of I:
CalcII
Physics-General Mechanics(F=ma and all that good stuff)
Thermodynamics
Fluids and Thermal Physics
Solid Mechanics
Heat Transfer (yes, a whole semester on that alone!)

But my Junior and senior years I will be taking "automotive designs", "concepts of an internal combustion engine", and "designing/ building an internal combustion engine".

Sometimes I look at this stuff and wonder what the fudge I got myself into <img border="0" alt="[crying]" title="" src="graemlins/crying.gif" />

Lets see, I'm a Mechanical Engineer at U of I. Here is a more complete list of the fun you will get to participate in:

Math 120,130,242 (Calc 1-3)
285 (Differential Equations - Lots of Fun!)
315 (Linear Matrices)

Physics 111(Mechanics)
112(Electricity & Magnetism)
113(Fluids and Thermal Physics)
114(Waves and Quantum Physics)

Chem 101
Chem 102
Chem 105 (Lab)
Chem 106 (Lab)

Lots of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics courses to reinforce all the stuff you do in physics.

Lots of Mechanical Engineering courses (Thermodynamics, Gas Dynamics, every kind of dynamics!).

Electrical Engineering courses.
Technical CS course.
Many general education requirement courses.
Tons of technical electives.

But you know what, its going to all be worth it. U of I is a great place to have fun and get a solid degree. If you are willing to work, none of this stuff is above you. Engineers can't afford to slack off as much as those business majors down here .

Dang, all the mechanical engineering classes bring back bad memories of ME 105 where we had to do 30 hours of homework in that class alone just to get a B. Needless to say no one got a whole lot of sleep..... that was almost 20 years ago and its kinda scary when I still can recite from memory the atomic weight of many elements (C = 12.011, H = 1.00797, O = 15.9994, H = 1.00797, etc.) My favorite one has to be the square root of 3 = 1.73205080755688. It is even more amazing sometimes I have problems adding
