Default I found a 1991 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet

It is Red/Black Int in running condition. 3.0L 16V 88k miles. What it needs:

Motor Mounts
Timing Belt
Water in the coolant system disappears over a period of a few days.
Leather on the Shift **** and steering wheel is peeling.
Dash is just starting to crack.
trans is a 5 speed.
Black Top is in perfect condition.
Red paint is faded/no body damage or rust

I might be able to get the car for $2000 or less. If I do I would strip it down and use the parts on my 1987 car. and take my old parts and put it on the cabby and sell it.

What I would change/swap:
Engines
Front Spoiler/Fenders/Valance and so on.

I really don't want a cabby but want the motor from the S2~!

Comments?

personally id buy it, fix it and flip it...$2000 is cheap for an S2 and if that work you listed is all it needs then you should be able to still come out with a profit. im assuming you do work yourself...while youre doing mounts and belts maybe you could do a headgasket/WP/chain tensioner/rollers job too. when youre done with that you'll have a fresh top end and be in about $1000...the top being in good shape is a plus. is that paint bad on just the outside or is it showing age on the inside as well? a decent red exterior paintjob if you prep it right shouldnt run very much either. in the end you could end up with a very nice S2 cab that might be too good to sell :^)

The problem in Hawaii is there are very few people who want a car like this here. They have taken it to the auto auction twice and no one bid on the car! Actually the paint just needs a good polish. There are also very few 944's here compared to 911's and Boxsters

hell if you could get it for 2k. you could probably get almost half that for the crank alone.

I've always wanted a fixer 944S2 cab and drop a 951 motor into it -- just like factory 944 turbo cab.

Be careful with this -- could be head gasket, could be worse.
