Now all you have to do is sit back and wait for your email(s) from the Ebay and Porsche legal departments.

Check out the "Mail from eBay" link on my website.

http://www.offsitens.com/ebaylmn/

The rest of it is a work in progress, but the details from ebay are there.

Yepp, I am going to change around the graphic, I just thought rennlist would get a kick out of it. I dont intend on going onine with some kind of "ebay" like marketplace or anything, just a page to post tutorials n stuff.

Matt--I just love it when somebody threatens me with a lawsuit and signs the threat with "-Edith", like the blood sucking lawyer is your best friend trying to do you a favor. According to that letter, ebay should change its name to "The World Famous eBay."

Good fight brother. Unfortunately in the land where all men are created equal, we don't stay that way as long as anybody has enough money to hire lawyers to squash the little guys and set legal precedents to protect their BS claims.

They don't care who you are... They will go right to your host. In this case, www.warped.com. I've done a lot of research on this and the only business I found that didn't fold under the pressure was http://www.register.com.

Good luck though...

BTW, I'm not saying in any way that you shouldn't be able to have a Rennbay site. Like I told Ebay, unless they are selling lmn's, I don't see any problem with my EbayLmn.com site.

Hi Dave...

I think my favorite quote was, ""eBay" is an arbitrary and fanciful trademark; neither "eBay" nor "bay" describe online trading or e-commerce in any way. Further, your use of the eBay trademark in your domain name may confuse consumers into thinking that your web site is somehow affiliate with or sponsored by eBay when it is not."

"Fanciful" trademark? Well la te da...

I actually left out the phone conversations I had, as I couldn't recall them 100% and didn't want to state anything that was incorrect. To be fair, Fatcow.com was very nice about the whole situation. They gave me a free year of hosting on my other accounts. It would be easier for eBay to go after them then me and I think all hosting companies realize that.

Oh well... Luckily eBay doesn't control the DMV and I get to explain the story to people who ask about my license plate.
