Much as I prefer charcoal grey over black, I would go with the 924S, assuming that they both check out with PPI. Three years younger, half the mileage.

Or you could base your decision on side markers.

I would keep looking as in that price range there is a good selection. Personally I like the 924 side markers but would find an earlier car as they are much easier and cheaper to maintain.

Good luck

As with any Porsche, buy the one that has been maintained properly. Any Porsche that is in excellent mechanical condition will be a great car. A 993 Turbo that's been abused and neglected won't be as good a car as a pristine 924.
(That may be stretching it but you get my point)

944. If you get the 924S, it won't be long until you are wishing you had those flares.
Ask me how I know <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

I have a 944 that I'm probably going to think about parting with soon (for the '51 )
I'm in GA also.
Just replaced oil cooler seals and she runs great.
Lots of miles though... 1715xx But well taken care of.
Anyway, check out

and shoot me an email if interested...
I'd be thinking around 4500

I'd check out ilikemy944's, then buy the one in the best condition.
What are you looking for? The 944 will out corner and out run a 924.
A 951 is even faster (and a 951S is faster still), but costs quite a bit more.
When I was looking, I decided on my price ceiling, then found the best car under that ceiling.
If you're willing to travel a few hundred miles (think Avis one-way) you should be able to find a good selection.

clone,

I would go for the 924S. Always liked the 924, and after I sell my turbo for a Mopar, I will probably pick one up as a daily driver.

John,

Yeah, I was at that Falcons game. I have to say it was incredible. The final Hail Mary pass to Plaxico was at the field corner where I was sitting--the entire crowd held their breath, only to have him be a yard short . Still, it was a great game. You have to like the Price signing, he and Vick are going to be a nice combo--and Dan Reeves is a class coach.
The turbo may be going up for sale this winter(I know not the best time to be selling, but oh well.) I had it up for sale once before, but decided to keep it--I haven't regretted the decision, and I just dumped a ton of loot into it--rebuilt rack, new WP/belts, all PS hoses, radiator, cooling hoses,(new plugs, wires, and dist. are sitting in my living room awaiting some spare time). However, the muscle car bug is getting worse. I have been actively watching the Duster/Demon, Super Bee, and Charger markets(even the Australian Ford Falcons) and have a feeling that more sooner than later, another V8 will be sitting in my driveway.
Once, I decide to sell, I will post here on the 'list, so you N/A owners keep your eyes peeled. <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/beerchug.gif" />

I would keep looking, but if it's definitely down to these two, unless the 944 has had a TON of maintenance done to it, again, as a diehard 944 fan I hate to admit it but you'll be better off buying the 924S. Feel free to ask me how I know!

OTOH, you could save a little more and buy a 944S2, which I truly believe is the best deal going reliability/performance wise as 944 cars go.

Good luck with your decision!
