Source for rebuilt PS Rack

I need to replace the power steering rack on a 1991 944S2. I was going to rebuild the rack with the Rennbay Kit, but once I got the rack out it's clear that it was already rebuilt once before.
Anyway...Looking for the best resonably priced source. Guarantee or not I'd hate to put the new one in and find that it leaks.
Thanks
Jeff

I'd spend the money on a Griffiths unit. I have heard and seen a few too many horror stories to go cheap on this project.

Quick update - Griffiths no longer rebuilds the 944 series racks. They reccomend Ian at 944online.com. I placed an order with Ian and received the rack new tie rods etc in just 3 days. I haven't installed it yet, but I am very impressed with what I received. The rebuilt rack looks brand new. Spotless. The packaging was first rate. The price at about $450 plus core was the best I've found. I'll update the thread when It's been on for a while.

Markus at BLASZAK PRECISION did my rack and pump.
Great service, fast turn around, the units looked brand new
when I got them back. Highly recommended.

Bought mine from autozone, ~$180 + core (brought my old one with me), the worst part was driving to washington to get it
everybody up here wants $800-$1400 to rebuild or replace one, and the online vendors are still $400+.
The autozone ones are rebuilt by an excellent company, but they come painted in this _TERRIBLE_ black paint that flakes off when you simply look at it. A quick inspection showed no missing internal pieces and a properly greased rack. Hasn't leaked a drop since I installed it (1 year and about 1500 miles) and I couldn't be happier for the price.
On the down side, I learned that my intermediate shaft is completely worn out and that was the other half of my steering play. Shame I didn't order a new one at the same time and I'm too lazy to take it apart again now.

The atsco unit from autozone is everything Z described - good and bad. I have two of them now, both working fine. Maybe it has changed but if you request and earlier car, you get the an even cheaper price $150 and as far as I can tell it is the same rack. Its been awhile but I think I ordered them for an 83. The real kicker is the lifetime warranty!
I'm actually not a big Autozone fan, in fact they are sort of the walmart of autoparts but dayum; lifetime warranty!...Bruce

Yeah the lifetime warranty sold me on it too. No big deal for me to drive back down to trade it out. I mean hell, its still way cheaper than any other option.
If you can't make it to an autozone maybe a mainland lister can help you out and ship one across?

What about AutoZone part number 6935 (Atsco manual rack)? Do their rebuilds come with tie rods? I've been contemplating a manual steering conversion, but $1150 to do the conversion is really steep.
