Headlight Duct
The guy's at Lindsey Racing (www.lindseyracing.com) make this headlight duct for the 951.
Does anyone know where I can get one for the 944? They are just slightly different...

Light covers for a turbo are SLIGHTLY different from NA covers. Not a lot but you would notice it when held side by side. I wonder if they do make a duct for NA covers? I also wonder how much air they would flow?

if you want, it would be a fun project for me to do.
Send me a/your cover, and I'll put a NACA duct in it for you.
I have my Turbos HL covers off, and I'm SOOoooo close to doing it myself. I'm just not in any position to paint it right now.
And I'd be putting in a SINGLE larger NACA duct, as opposed to two small ones.

Would there be a problem with water entry if driving in a heavy rain ?

The headlight covers on a 951 are slightly longer than on a 944/924. When I replaced my nose panel on the 951 with the vented 924 turbo one, I then had to replace the headlight covers for a decent fit.

I am getting a whole headlight bucket from the local junkyard. I'm going to lay the whole thing out, and then look for a bodt shop to do the surgery. Rich, I might take you up on your offer.
My car is rarely driven in the rain ( ) but I would assume that it would take in some moisture--it is a good point to think about. The issue would be wetting the coolant reservoir, and the filter of course. The rainwater would just fall down through the bucket/engine compartment--it would make that stuff wet. I'll have to do some book learnin' on that one.

Guys, don't worry about the rain! Water in moderation is good for your aircharge. Cools it off, among other things. Why do you think Danno/gururacing is dreaming up a kit to inject water?
As long as you don't drive into a lake and hydrolock your motor, water sucked in from any downpour is beneficial to horse power.
