I am a bit worried about the overheating, I thought maybe a bad head gasket but the oil isn't milky and the car ran fine. Any other damage that may have occurred?
Overheating can warp the head and block in extreme cases. Did white smoke come out of the exhaust at all?

No smoke the car ran surprisingly well but got hot very quickly. Seemed like the water pump wasn't working at all.

Have you had a way of checking the tension on the belts? Were they even done properly last time? I wouldn't drive it until it's had a PPI done by someone VERY familiar with these cars.

Totally agreed. No doubt about it how these cars can milk you of everything you have. It's best to look at these cars more like hot-rod projects than an investment at this point and just enjoy them.
