Definitive answers on '86 head shaving? I would like to get 10.2 compression
I'm in the process of rebuilding the top end on my '86 and I'm thinking I'd like to shave the head down some to bump the compression a bit.
I can't seem to search this forum in any good way (AND doesn't work?), so finding out this info is a pita. Can anyone give tell me what's a good set up for an '86? It seems that I will need to advance the timing a bit, but that's about it?

A couple compression points won't add any noticeable horsepower. And if the head ever needs to be shaved later and it's already been shaved a lot, then what?
It has been done before though. What kind of info are you looking for, how much to shave it? I think the FWSM minimum spec would be good.

To do it properly youll need to do somethign to change the cam timing as that will be effected by shaving the head. Im not 100% sure on this but I think youll need to use some type of offset woodruff key for the cam to get it right. If you can find an adjustable cam gear that might work as well.
