Post New Intake for 944 - Pictures Included

I'm so happy. I just got my new intake from <a href="http://www.dragonintakes.com." target="_blank">http://www.dragonintakes.com.</a> I put it on this afternoon and test drove my car for about an hour. The power gains are great. I can really feel the difference, and my car has a nice sound to it. It feels like my car has a power ban I never felt before. I used to have the MSDS-Inc intake, but with this Dragon Intake it's much better. This intake actually looks good too

If your interested in it the link is here:
<a href="http://www.dragonintakes.com/index.htm?c122.htm&1" target="_blank">http://www.dragonintakes.com/index.htm?c122.htm&1</a>

I'm super happy to find more mods for the 944. It's hard to find anything good for it.

Come on over and I'll let you test drive my car. I live in the SF bay area. It's not the sound.

Shouldn't that thing be flipped around the other way? Isn't it just sucking in hot air from the motor in this case?

Looks kinda ricey IMHO.

Damn if that doesn't sound like an advertisement for the thing. I also find it interesting that the picture is the exact same one that is on the web sight. Huh, maybe I'm just being a little cynical?

Hot air from the engine and the nice warm air passing thru the radiator then going into the the engine.
The stock unit is a factory cold air box sucking air from outside the engine compartment. I know of someone that dyno'd a cone, stock and stock with out cover to see if the tube was a restriction. Guess what no real difference.
I would think the difference in the boxes would greater in a moving car with the hood closed. The moving car would be sucking hot air in the motor and since the dyno runs are with the hood open it doesn't show up! I bet it loses more power then the stock does with the hood closed while driving, since the stock it is pulling cool air from fender it wouldn't lose as much.

But I am open minded please post the dyno charts for the 944!

BTW..I have a cone filter with adaptor for sale used for a few dyno runs. I want $40 plus shipping.
It's red!!!

Honestly, I don't believe any of the cone filters will work better than the existing airbox setup.

The way the airbox pulls air from inside the fender, thus outside the engine bay, means it pulls cooler air than is available inside the engine bay.

Ever open your hood on a hot day after driving the car and find it EVEN hotter? Think about pulling that air through your motor! Even though the sound is louder, it will not help once the car warms up. At all.

Yeah, I'm not too much for this type of intake anyways...but something that looks like it belongs in a vehicle from 2F2F does not go on my car. Why the colors? It would be more desireable entirely if Black.

Ryan's email address is ryan@sromagazine.com, and he shows up as the 'webmaster/owner' of SRO on their website. It just so happens that the dragon intake system is advertised all over the site. Now, it may just be that he loved the product so much he decided to advertise it on his site, but I'm not that trusting. Coupled with his advertisment-ish post here and the ads on his site, I'd say you hit the nail on the head David.
