Default Best Ignition Wires?

I'm doing a full tune up, and am looking for a set of high performance ignition wires and was curious as to what set (if any) you guys like. Will be used in conjunction with a blaster 2 coil.

I like Kingsborne 8mm. They come with Beru ends. The wires are numbered at the distributor end and they will put heat shrink "Porsche" labels on the spark plug end if you ask them. If your avatar is a pic of your engine bay, then I think the red wires would look cool in there.

Yeah, I'm def going with red wires. However that is an old picture; the cam cover and intake manifold are now black, with red PORSCHE lettering, so the red wires should look even better than before. Paragon sells the kingsborne right?

Yes, I think I have seen them on Paragon. I got mine on Ebay but it's really hit-or-miss as to when they'll post ones for your car.

anyone run the Clewett Engineering wires from Pelican...I'm nervous about them because they're so cheap.

I run the Magnacores on my 928, and they are great.

I just installed a Bosch set on my 944 S2, and they actually have the Beru ends on them - perfect fit and seem to be working great too.

I'm running the Clewett wires in my S2. The rest of my ignition is good 'ol bosch replacements. I was chasing a random misfire at idle (think it was the cap), so I replaced everything. The only problem I had was the plug boot kept popping out of the spark plug bore when the motor got hot and would not stay in. We used to have that problem at an Audi dealer I worked for with the coil-over-plugs popping out of the 1.8T (especially after that monster recall). We would cut a small notch in the weather seal so the expanding hot air could escape without popping the coil off. For these wires I just drilled a small hole (about 1/16") through the weather seal at the higher "installed" clock position. So they don't pop off anymore, and my misfire is gone, and I'm getting great mileage now too. I've run them for about 4k miles and no issues.

Default Wires...

I went with the full tune up kit from Lindsey for my 88 NA, along with the blaster 2, and the cat back Dansk, running like a raped ape, and sounds like one screaming at you while doing it...I did add a Ballast Resistor for good measure, just to protect the DME, some said do it, some said don't bother, If you realy want to have fun with the ignition, score a 6A series MSD controller, and adjust to your hearts desire...Plus it will add the MSD function on top of the 45Kv fire....Considering this myself...

They have selection of Red, Black or Blue....They also have just the wire set, same color selection..

I think I'm going to go with Kingsborne, thanks guys!

Now how about spark plugs? I've used both the standard Bosch WRDC7+ and the platinum 4's. I like both, the platinum 4's seems to help the engine run smoother. But what do you guys think would work best with the blaster 2 and high performance wires (car also is chipped). Any other brands I should look at? NGK?

My Clewett wires are shot after about 2 years of use.

1) Insulation split at the neck of one plug at coil from just sitting there. Noticed the problem after the car ran poor in wet weather. Popped the hood and noticed it arcing.
2) Wire pulled from spark plug boot while pulling wires (and yes I pulled from boot).

Overall, the quality of the connectors and wires is poor. I have taken care in placing them on the car and have only put less than 20k on them. Just my 2 cents.
