I would try ebay or something. Here on these forums, there are often running cars in poor shape that sell for 1k or less.. Tough to get a buyer for a non running car in not the best shape for that much. Especially when someone gave one away for free last week

You may have overpayed for the car, by rennlist standards. You will have to either wait for someone wants the car for a special reason here, or try ebay and get someone else to overpay or want the car enough.

Good advice above. I've bought several non-runing cars as parts cars. You can get your money back if you part it out, but for someone to come and get it, at today's gas prices - it's just not worth that much. I'll have near $800 in by the time I pay my expenses picking it up. The last 944 I bought the owner paid 6K for it, broke a timing belt, and let it sit for 3 years. It was a complete, beautiful 100.0K mile car with a mint interior and a OEM full leather dash, just 4 bent valves and seized accessories from sitting outside (under a cover) all that time. The guy had it for sale for a while, and eventually sold it to me for $900.

I can pick it up this Friday afternoon for $500 cash, or take your chances on Ebay. If you have other 944 parts, I may be interested in those, and could pay a bit more.

It's too bad the windshield is broke. I'm driving through Valparaiso tomorrow, back on Sunday, but with the car, not the truck. If the windshield was intact I'd pay what you're asking, but otherwise I'm at the same amount as Eric, as I pm'd you when you started this thread.

For the condition of the rest of the car other than the engine in pieces, I say its a $500 car. I am selling a running/driving 924S with ratty interior for $750 if thats any indication of what they go for around here.

I'd sell it to the person who offered you 500 bucks to haul it away and take it off your hands.

I'm new to the scene but it seems like parting it out is a lot of work and coordination between yourself and a lot of buyers. If you have the time and feel you'll get more value, part it out.
