The ENTIRE exhaust system on the turbo is completely different than the N/A. Are the two manifolds at the head exact...I do not know. Check that the I/D of the tubes are the same, and then a simple fit-up would tell. Keep in mind that what ever header you use, you will want the updated #1/#4 header with the expandable bellows. Aluminum expands at a rate of twice that of cast iron. Due to this expansion, the original design would eventually crack from the heat cycles. The bellows installed in the #1 tube corrected this issue.

The NA header will lineup at the head, as both heads are from the same casting. It will not lineup at the crossover. The NA headers are also a smaller diameter, and would likely crack quickly, as they lack an expansion joint. All the details on the 944 Turbo Headers are in my Header FAQ on my website.

If anyone has some good photos of the non-shielded late headers, please sent them to my for inclusion in the FAQ.

Time and effort, P21S Auto Wash, Wurth Citrus Cleaner, and brass wire-basket bit on my dremel. The brass brush removes all the oxidation, without cutting into the metal, or plating. Use the Citrus Cleaner on the really bad stuff. P21S on general engine bay cleaning. I got your email on your engine. Do a general soak down with the CItrus Cleaner and a soft wheel brush. Don't use the generic Citrus Cleaners, they don't work, and they usually have some very acidic additions, that cause more harm than good. The Wurth stuff doesn harm the metal. I have tested it, by leaving it on a piece of aluminum foil over night, and no etching or change. Even Simply Green will eat through the foil.

Don't kid yourself, this is very time consuming.

I am in the market for some headers by the way. Do you know where I can get a decent deal on some?
