Finally put on my new rims! But how can I tell if there rubbing?

Ha, why thanks.
Yep, the spacers worked great. I'm pretty sure there wasn't any rubbing what so ever. I haven't driven my car in a while, but I'll make sure next time I do to see if they rub at full lock.

The hub face and center ring of the wheel need to be bolted up to a broad flat surface. Washers create a gap and very little surface. There will be inevitable flex and the washers will either get crushed or mash themselves into the softer aluminum of the wheel. That will make it loose and could result in stress and snapping of wheel lugs, and a wheel falling off. The good news is that once the wheel falls off, it won't be rubbing on the car anymore. ;-)

SPACERS, NOT WASHERS !! I have 245/50/16 front tires, 255/50/16 rears, car is lowered an inch, barely rubs on hard cornering. Your car looks like there is a ton of room, how could that narrow a tire rub on the spring ?

Spacers can be found on the internet like ebay. A 5-8mm spacer sounds like all you need.
