how about this: pulsating brake pedal?
car stops fine, but at higher speeds, when braking, the pedal would pulsate - the car will still stop fine though
low brake fluid?

Probably the rotors have deposits of disc material. Either disassemble and send for turning or do the same with scotch pads, same results. Its not a big deal.

its the strangest thing; last time they were looked at it was less then 1 month ago and they still had a ton of life to them left
I'll see how it is today though, maybe it was just that one 5-minute freakout thingie

I too think it's uneven brake pad transfer to the rotors.
Did you recently come to an emergency stop or lock up the brakes? Go through a windy road with lots of heavy braking?

no; the whole car feels so loose now, it's crazy, I have to go to work and I have and will not have any way to get there but with the P-car; it's nuts but I am so scared to take it
I've had light overheating issues yesterday, but it never actaully overheated, yesterday was the first time it did; it's been fine again since then; I just went on a quick drive around the block, and I hear metal grinding noise; when I press the brakes the brake pedal pulsates, and pedal feels slightly loose, but the car stops good; it does need new bearings, I already know that, and it's on the "to-do-list"
I'm just really bummed out, the car has been trouble free for the last 9 months and now I don't know; I don't have enough vacation time/sick time to take off and do this now; and this is the only car I have; take my chances driving it "as is" seems to be the only option; I mean even if I can get the parts and do it myself (if my parents let me use their garage) it will take a few days - but I still have to get the parts first!
if not, it will be on the "wait list" for some garage for atleast another month

If the whole car feels loose it's time to get it up in the air and check the amount of bearing play from the hubs, and the rest of your components. A sudden loose condition is a sign of potential component failure.

Don't worry about that too much... it happens. I was getting some of that pulsation on the track, only at speeds over 80 mph or so. When I switched to a slightly more aggressive compound it mostly went away, which tells me it was just deposits on the rotor.
Probably not a bad idea to have the front rotors turned... that's pretty easy and fairly cheap too.
