2+2 or not I'm a little disappointed with Porsche's current lineup. For the price, the cars should have:

911 Turbo - 550 horsepower
911 - 450 horsepower
Boxster - 350 horsepower
Some-sort-of-lightweight-coupe - 250hp

I'de be all over the "Some-sort-of-lightweight-coupe"

I'm guessing the 2+2 would use the Cayenne engine?

Given that it'll be based on the Cayenne platform...I would imagine it might very well use the Cayenne engine...

So that means 928 territory.

However, I've heard rumors of a 6 cylinder for the Cayenne...??

I dont know how the heck Porsche would get 450HP out of a n/a flat 6...

But seriously, I think they could pull 450 out of the flat six. They are pulling 381 out of the 3.6 now. Why don't they make it 4 or 4.2?

I hope Porsche doesn't go that route, but who knows...Power is Power...long as they keep it handling like a Porsche...its all good.

Upping the displacement on a flat 6 would work great.

Yeah, but it's faster.
It is based on the 924 Carrera GT...it's not a slow grocery getter

What a horrible fate for a 924 Carrera GT. Thank God that never made it into production.

I don't think so...on the 5 cylinder...I think the 924CGT was a 4 cylinder, like all 924's.
