Default Replacing rear shocks

I replaced the front not too long ago, but now since I am dropping the rear suspension I see no reason not to replace the rear shocks.

I am going to go with sachs/boge since the car is just a DD and it'll match the front.

Anwyay... I have been looking around for the best prices and paragon has them for $86 each. But when I went to DC automotive they say $45 each for the same part number shocks.

Can this be right?

Sounds too good to be true... anyone help me out with what is going on here?

Thanks!

$45 each, USED, if I was reading it correctly.

DC Auto is a porsche recycler. Their parts are take-offs from wrecks, etc. They pull, tag, stock, and sell. I've gotten some really good parts from them. Great folks.

Talk to Russ.

Just go with new KYB gas shocks for about $40/shock. There's really nothing special about Boge or Sachs.

If it is just a daily driver and you have no plans for it down the road then I agree. You just don't want to put shocks on now and try to upgrade in a year. My 87 had the KYB shocks and they were pretty good even for an occassional autocross and DE.

If I plan on doing some semi-regular autox and DD would koni's and #200 springs be a waste of money?

Ok KYB sounds good but I looked here:
http://www.shockwarehouse.com/site/p...he-924-and-944

And it says do not use with sport suspension option... I'm pretty sure my car had that option... I'll have to double check though... Is this true? Should these not be used if I have this?

If so, is there another model of KYB that I could use.

I used KYB's on the rear of my 84' 944 which had the Factory Sport option. For the fronts I used a set of Boge Turbo gas shocks along with Weltmeister 200# springs.

The KYB's were arlight for a daily driver. I think since I put a ton of miles on my car (240k when sold) I would have been happier with some Bilstiens.

Cameron, I was impressed with just a shock upgrade and Welt 200# springs up front and lowered via eccentrics in back on my 84' 944. I think it is definitely a worth while investment for DD and AutoX car. Next up would be get some larger 951 sway bars, or if you really want to upgrade get some Weltmeister 28mm F and 22mm R anti-sway bars.
