How long do you let you S2/944 idle in the morning??

Start and go (per the Owner's Manual).
When the oil pressure drops below 3 bar at idle, you can proceed to drive the car harder.
It's even more important to wait for the oil pressure to drop if the car is a turbo.

This all really depends on the oil and what your concern is. If your concerned about ring sealing, then taking it easy when cold doesn't nessecarily mean to keep below a certain rev. It's defined by the load you put on the engine (how far to the floor your accelerator is). The harder the load, the more pressure on the piston rings. This part is just opinion based, but with today's modern synthetic oils, giving a little rev(4,000 and lower) while oil is cold really shouldn't be that bad. I'd assume that as long as your rings are fully expanded against the walls, lubrication shouldn't be a problem. But that's just my opinion.

drive and go !
or at least as soon as,
you should not let"ANY" car warm up,
a car warms up faster when its driving than if idleing
also when driving oil circulation is better
cat thing, errrmm yes,
mainly down to less wear
get in, strap up etc
start and go
zoooooooooooooooooooooooom

if the oil's not up to temp its not lubricating as well....what so bad about letting it idle? who cares if the motor warms up before the car what damage is that gonna cause
