Hahah, wouldn't you have just been better off buying a Pontiac Fiero and taking the body panels off?

It would solve your traction problem...

Hey, don't forget, they're both slow 80s cars.

No, mine is a 3.2 liter V6, stock they have 2.8s. The 2.8s aren't so bad. With the 5-speed, they're good for mid / high 15s. A hair slower than a stock early NA 944. Top speed is about 120-125.

I took a 2.8 V6, installed a 3.1 crank and rods with .040 overbore pistons.

Mine WAS pretty quick. I had it running consistent mid / high 14s when it was in top shape. But with work, school, and house projects, I've more or less let it sit. It just sits in the garage next to my VW Bus. Man... I've had it for over 13 years now. It was my first car.

It's still in good shape, but the suspension is somewhat shot. The springs and bushings are pretty worn out. The paint is ok, but after sitting in the sun most of it's life, the clear-coat is starting to craze in a couple of spots.

you might be having some aero problems - I don't even want to imagine what the Cd on that thing is, but there isn't really a smooth surface on it anywhere for the air to flow around, which will probably slow you down a little. Don't know how much though...exhaust leak probably isn't helping anything either

oh yeah. aero is out the window man. At anything over 40 i can feel wind gusts actually slowing me down and speeding me back up again. LOL

what I would love is a snap on plastic body or something. $$$$

it hooks up perfectly for a normal start but if you want to make a good 0-60 youll need to launch it at higher RPM and a degree of wheelspin to get a faster launch. without much weight on the back axle if you tried anything close to that kind of launch youd just get buckets of wheelspin.

give it a full tank of gas and idk have someone hang onto the rollbar and sit in the back for your next launch lol.

Did you sneak across country and take my car for a spin or something? seems you know a lot about it for not having driven it...I know perfectly well how to launch a car and i'm saying once again.... I don't have hook up problems!!! ----maybe that wasn't the best smiley to use?

And If I want buckets of wheels spin I know how to do that too. And as soon as dad gets the camera back. (tomorrow) I will show you just how many buckets o'wheel spin I can dish out.

I wasn't complaining about a 7.5 sec 0-60. especially since it was done using a cell phone and the speedo. which doesn't hit 60 untill the third gear shift.
