Not In California. Smoking or blacking out lenses is illegal here. Not so much a problem unless the cop is in a bad mood or you're drawing attention to yourself.

It's cool to see this thread - I'm doing the clear replacement for the amber section & having them lightly smoked. Here are a couple of photochops I did to help me make up my mind - think it definitely cleans up the look.

now this is sweet looking...you won't be "relocating" the light/function either.

I personally think tinting the turn signals red is the best look..
