Default Is this the steering wheel lock? (see picture)

Is this (see picture) the pin that is supposed to get cut off?

When turning the key, it only moves in/out about 1mm. Does that sound right? Just cut this pin off and I'm done? I don't want to cut the wrong thing...

Thanks in advance.

That's it.

Such little movement had me questioning if that was correct. I ground it down, installed it, and it worked. I'll leave the pic up for future reference.

I will now give myself a time-out for the silly question...

NASA requires that the steering lock be removed. I guess the reason being that if you kill the ignition (because of a fire or...) while moving and move the key too far you won't lock your steering and lose directional control while stopping.

"I see", said the blind man.

Makes perfect sense.
