Car will not start after sitting for a few days
Hello All,
My 944 sat for a few days and today it wouldn't start. It had been raining must of the time the car was parked outside. I did notice the battery was drained. After trying to start the car there was a strong smell of gas. I put in a brand new battery and still the car tried to start but simply wouldn't turn over. And yes the smell of gas returned. The car has nearly a full tank of fuel.
I am stuck and in need of help.

Looking forward to meeting Xsboost90 and Nine-44.
Am I missing a plug or is this open hole normal?

That hole is normal. Its a viewing hole to check the status of the belt.

Meaning the engine won't turn over as in
turn ? (Like there's something physicaly preventing it from turning or a dead starter?)
Or the engine turns over (cranks) but doesn't fire up?

check the fuse for the ecu/ dfe! 7.5 fuse
It should be fuse # 7 but not totally sure
The car will not start without this!
