I don't fit in my car with my helmet on!
#16
I saw a 944 guy who built a sunroof with a fiberglass bubble to clear his helmet.
As you can see in my avatar I'm pretty tall. If you think a 944 is tight, try a 911! That short guy next to me is a 911 guy (I'm not kidding).
I've always preferred a reclined driving position so it doesn't bother me. However, if I had an anti-submarine belt, I'd be a little worried.

I'm 6'1" with shortish legs (32" inseam) and in the stock seats, I fit pretty well. I lean back a little bit more than usual, and on some humps and bumps my helmet will womp on the roof. I think the solution is to lean back.

It seems like right around the 6' range is the height at which drivers have problems fitting. My buddy is 6'4" or 5" and he fits really well actually.
However, I'm 6'1" and I didn't. So, I conceded defeat and adjusted my position s.t. my seat back was leaned farther back (i.e. my arms were farther away). I have since gotten used to this position so it doesn't matter as much, but at the time it was weeeeiirrrd.
One thing you might try is to pick up a junker sunroof for ~$25. Strip it entirely and reinstall for track days. This will give you ~1.5" of extra clearance.
Also, you shouldn't be running w/ your visor on. Every helmet I've seen has the ability to remove the visor. So, remove it and you won't have any problems.

I am 5' 7" and my head hits the sunroof with my helmet on. I also had a problem of driving with the visor open and under braking visor was hitting the sunvisor. I was thinking of reshaping the foam on the stock seat.
now who has a spare sunroof for a prototype cheap?? maybe in graphite?

Huh? Visor SHOULD be on, and closed (down)! If you have a major shunt you'll be glad your face and eyes are protected.

In Hawaii we die in the cars with the heat. most of the other drivers remove the visor. I had the unfortunate of getting a new HJC helmet and couldn't figure out how to remove the visor. So I had to use it as is for that day.

dont mess w/ the sunroof- get seats. I just put my visor back on just in case for my next track day. Had some rubber bounce off the track and tag the side of the helmet.

I was looking at the sunroof today and even if I did the Bubble I think the front of the roof is still in the way. but I think it would be cool. so now I have to start looking at seats.
haha and I bought the Porsche because it was the one car that I thought I could leave stock and not mod. should have known better, 27 years of owning cars and none have stayed stock, but the Porsche lasted the longest! oh well off the the race parts store.
