Took my driver's side sunvisor out...damnit!
The darn thing kept flopping down into my head (god that sounds bad) and scaring the crap out of me.
It's out...and I may leave it out. Never use it....I wear dark sunglasses..
Any reason not to just leave it out of the car?

They don't make sunglasses that can protect you from having the sun directly in your eyes. Welding goggles or a ball cap, maybe. A replacement visor that isn't worn out might be a nice thing to have and odds are you'll need one someday anyway.

doing my first DE in a few weeks and that's all I could envision...me losing it on a turn because the damn thing fell down in my face!

You must be tall. I'm 6' and where I had the seat, the thing wouldn't come down in front of my face, just hit the top of my helmet.
BTW, this is what racer tape is for.

Put it back in, and buy a little velcro sticker, stick one on the visor and one on the headliner, to hold it up.
Or if you want to do it the ghetto backwards way, you can buy a replacement visor.

Took mine out a long time ago. Occasionally, it would be nice to have it back in, but sure enough, the road turned and the sun is no longer a problem.

I did search and find that repair procedure...two things...there's supposed to be plastic over the metal rod..mine obviously got brittle and broke off....and when I pulled the rod out, it's only about 4" long and there's no tab as described in that procedure.
The procedure called for use of teflon tape to thicken the rod....I may try this anyway...before I just leave em out of the car.
