Default When I get up to 50mph the car starts to shudder

I have had my 1987 944 n/a for about 2 years waiting for an engine. I think it was sitting for about a year or so before I got it. Well, 2 weeks ago I had my engine put in. So, needless to say, I am still finding things out. (Sorry for so many posts) For the last week or so, I have been driving it around, in town only, keeping it at around 35 mph. I want to take it easy on everything. At these rates of speed, the car steers great with no vibrations or anything of the sort. Today, I got it out on the highway for the first time. When I got up to about 50 mph, the front started shaking. It seemed like hitting a bump in the road might have triggered this. Maybe...maybe not. It really does not seem like unbalanced tires, but something else. Could it be the struts?...I don't know. Also, when I hit a dip in the road, even at a lower speed, or make a fairly sharp left-hand turn, my front right tire seems to rub the fender well. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks

Make sure your suspension is installed with all bolts tight. Make sure the wheel bearings are tight. Make sure the tie rods have no play whatsoever. Make sure the tires are balanced.

Flat spotted tires? - that was a lot of sitting still.

Could be a bent rim, too.

... Don't drive it at 50mph? ...

"Doctor, it hurts when I do this."
"Then don't do that!"
Sorry just a little joke...

I bet it's the upper strut mounts. I had the same problem and tried replacing everything until I figured that out. Good luck-

Crazy question but did you get an alignment and balance?
