Default Thinking of buying this 951; Opinions please.

I'm looking at this 944 Turbo; I wont tell you where it's at cause I'm scared one of you will ****** it from under me. I will tease with pictures though.

He claims that it has new transmission, rebuilt power rack, oil seals, K26 Turbo, clutch, waterpump, tb and bs belts, and new shocks. He is asking $10,500. I was thinking of offering 9,000. What are your opinions on this vehicle?

Its at 90,000 miles. It says it has a clean carfax so I'm assuming no wrecks.

Originally a New Orleans car that was moved to Chicago. Was put on Ebay about a year and a half ago and I don't know where it went from there. Am I right? If it's the same car I saw it once on Metairie Road and my first thought was "I have to have one of those."

That car has been for sale for a long time in Chicago; over a year at least. Started at 13k I think. I live relatively close to the seller and if your really interested in it I could check it out for you.

Wasn't there a flood down there a couple years ago?

is that the one that was put together by a rennlister? if yes, there are a lot of pictures on this site of the work that went into it. i would say it was 'restored' around 01-02.

And, the air filter over there isnt much of a plus. i have one in my garage from my 951. if someone wants it, make me an offer.

in my opinion, the color change really hurts the value... it WILL be harder to re-sell.

Okay, considering it's been re painted and all, with all the work that has been done on it, what IYHO is a good price for this car, resale not being considered. I felt in the beginning his asking price of 10,500 was very high, not knowing it started at 13k which seems very high. But, there has been an awful lot of work done on this car. I appreciate your input.

Interesting to hear thats its been for sale for so long. Did you go and see it yet? Its going to come down to how that paint job looks in person before you can decide on what to offer. I like the color if its done right.

Haha I know where it is! I'll keep your secret; I can't believe it's still not sold. I actually had that car bookmarked since I was planning on getting a turbo, but it has been for sale for wayyy to long now; something smells fishy Be careful especially with turbos, if repair records are limited I would look elsewhere. Ask around the forum, some people here are selling and they will probably be more reliable; unless location is a problem for you. The car is 25 miles from me, where are you?

Yeah, just a little one called Hurricane Katrina.

Pretty sure this car was gone from NOLA before that.
