Default 944 cluster mod question...

I just bought these....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Rings...mZ350033096816

One of the few cosmetic addItions that didnt look "ghetto" IMO. I am changing to white led's and thought "while I have it out".......

Has anyone done this? Anything I should look our for? Should be simple but most things never work out that way.....

Thanks,

BO

Some people have done that, and IIRC it is straightforward.

Keep in mind that if you switch from bulbs to leds, you will lose the rheostat (dimmer) function.

Bright lighting in the cluster looks nice at first but gets really tiresome during night driving. You have been warned.

i bought these. havent had a lot of luck in getting them to stay without glue. I agree LED may not be the way to go. if you just replace the T5 bulbs with LED it wont work ie too dull as they are directional. If you rig them someother way i think the lack of dimming is a big issue... just go with higher wattage bulbs.

Use no higher than 3W bulbs. Originals were 2W and the dealer has superseded them to 3W. 4W or higher will melt the plastic housing.

The only thing that will get you brighter lighting without damage is repairing the reflectors with aluminum foil, or reflectant tape, or an inside out potato chip bag with the foil side towards the light.
