Koni Bump Stops?

Thanks, so maybe taper up for OEM perch and down depending on after market upper perch, if it matters at all...

I vaguely remember going through this dilemma a few years ago, actually 4 years to be exact. If you are hitting that bump stop in a 951 you have some serious issues beyond the bump stop at that point. Could you imagine that big of suspension deflection with that stiff of springs and shock compression? You would have to hit a pothole at like 90 miles per hour or something.

I was about to say its a tapered spring as well - but would it matter? I say this b/c as you continued to compress the bump stop it presents more surface area in either direction its put into the car and therefore, would increase resistance in the same amount right?
Interesting that Porsche shows them installed taper-up and all the aftermarket stuff is put in taper-down...

Gator 86, I agree I don't think I have ever hit my bump stops, but as mentioned it is interesting that there seems to be some logic as to the direction installed. I installed mine taper up because the taper on them seems to fit well with the stock upper perch and the flat surface on top of the M030 strut is about the same diameter as the large flat surface on the competition bump stops.
I'm not sure why a progressive spring would have a direction, any engineers out there?
