Tapered end goes up into the upper strut perch or down?

I assumed they went up also. It would seem that the tapered end fits into the upper perch.

I just went and checked, mine are in tapered side up. I checked 944s2.com (pic) and he has them on taper side down, but has an aftermarket upper perch. Anyone else?

Hard to tell. Is the taper facing down?

Maybe I installed mine down. I took my whole front end apart this afternoon and I didn't look. In any event, you won't ever be hitting those bump stops, so it basically doesn't matter.

Tom R, those look like stock springs and hats, you need to verify the spring rates with paint markings on the springs. The bump rubber is original style, taper side up, #12 in the picture. Second pic of new style bump rubber.

Techno, does the upper perch have full surface contact with the large flat on the bump rubber, looks like it does in the 944s2 image i posted but that's a different type of upper perch and I can't tell with yours, RE I'm guessing. I'm not second guessing Paragon's work just wondering if it matters?

I really dont think it matters.

Not sure about the spring perches that were on my struts, they were from Ground Control i believe. I installed those things about 4 years ago now. The design of the original bump stop is completley different than the Koni competition bump stops. As you can see it is tapered to fit into the OEM spring perch.

I just installed Koni converted struts on my friends car with parts supplied from Paragon also. The new Racers Edge spring perches sold with the threaded collars have a completley flat bottom (the side the spring seats on). So yes it has full surface contact.
