cause the higher engine speed causes the waterpump to pump more hot water through the heater core thingy...

First you could try moving the temp from full cold to full hot a couple times... that fixed it for me once... don't know why or how.

But I'd put my last dollar on "cuz you gots an air pocket yo."

And I couldn't have said it any better.

Yeah... it's because of exactly what you said...
When you rev the pump pushes coolant past the air, but then when you sit it doesn't push hard enough and you get cold.

Your coolant level may be low as well. That and air are the two most common causes of not getting heat without rpm.

Auto zone will lend u a coolant pressurizer provided u leave a deposit~ $75. Pressure your tank to 5psi and open the bleed valve. Plan on loosing some coolant. Then try running engine and feel for normal cabin heat. You may have to repeat this process several times.

The heat in my car works great. I comes up to temp quickly and gets really hot on long drives, even at 0degrees F Hot air starts coming out of the vents after about 2-3 miles. If you are freezing you *** off in Georgia, something is definitely wrong.

That's for pansies. Put your mouth on the expansion tank and blow! But close your eyes, because once you work out a bubble, you'll shoot some coolant out of the bleed screw suddenly. Keep the coolant level high in the expansion tank so that you don't blow air into the cooling system.

I had a problem like this, where the heat would work great for a few minutes and then die off. I bled it a gajillion times. Pressure tested it and it held okay. Replaced the thermostat. Now apparently the radiator leaks.

The short term fix is get a new car before yours overheats and blows the head gasket.

Make sure the vacuum line to the top of the heater control valve is not connected directly to the intake vacuum system. You get on the throttle, vacuum drops, and closes the valve. Opens back up once you get off the gas and the engine goes back into vacuum. I have seen a few owners redo their vacuum lines and make this mistake. Or maybe it is vise versa, I can't remember when the valve is open exactly.
