Default What's the damage going to be?

Well after replacing my header and midpipe I started poking around under my car looking for the source of my newly founded rattle/thud/bad sound from the right side of the car. (suspension) And I found some rather worrisome things....
Front right

Front left

These guys are ok, right?

What's it going to cost to fix the front struts, the ball joint and a fuel injector. One of those is leaking as well.
I guess this explains the feeling that my car is loose/under dampened...

When it rains, it FREAKING POURS!!

time for konis! see paragon products....

I recommend the ball joint rebuild kit from rennbay. I only had luck with the bronze bushing track kit, though, as autocrossing put the plastic bushings out of commission in a hurry. Could have been my bad assembly, though. I eventually got the pre-built-by-Travis variety. Go ahead and get the kit for both arms.

It won't break the bank if you're willing to do some stuff yourself, like cutting up the strut housings to put in koni inserts and rebuilding the ball joints yourself.

Just saying that I DO, do it myself.... how much work would it be to fit the koni's?
I was going to ask how much it would cost, but I'll be proactive and look myself. Lol

Send paragon a email they're very helpful and can get the right insert kit for you. The koni insert kit above is really a great deal if your willing to to the work.

The rear shocks are the same on all late cars. I don't know about the fronts. I see two different part numbers for front strut housings in PET, but they are both labeled as -1989.

Fitting front inserts is pretty easy, the only trick is compressing the spring. I recommend new upper strut mounts as well - this will make as big of an improvement as the shocks will.

If you're tight on money, I can vouch for KYB - I have them in my NA and they are good.

The ball joints are easy too with the right tool (pickle fork or other special tool of choice). And they're cheap.

O BTW I got my rear wb replaced with no prob. We should still get together sometime though. Good luck!

just because the ball joint boots are cracked doesnt mean they need rebuilt. Rennbay and paragon both carry new boots.

Arash, you have to come to one of the get togethers if you are around. On the threaded collar strut like the 86, we can change both out in 15 minutes and NOT EVEN take the wheel off the car or mess up the alignment. It also doesn't involve a spring compressor.
