I agree completely. Sometimes I get real irritated that I have to pay for something when I KNOW the only reason why the "market price" is even there is because nobody wants to bother doing it themselves because of the value of their free time. There is no doubt that free time is valuable and I will be guilty of having to make that economic move, doesn't mean I won't get irritated about it.

Ian can crank out some serious nonsense. If anybody is a hater on that you ought to look up his threads where he describes the festiva he built. I rode in that car and it was pretty damn fast.

I think I am going to have to get a front license plate on my mazda when I move to virginia which is not that great. So, I guess I will have to drill holes in the bumper which is no fun.

Bumper plugs are a rip off. Go to a hardware store or automotive store, and buy some interior clips (they look like bumper plugs, but they are 10 cents each). Paint them... and you're done.

Arash- it all come down to time. I make more than that per hour at "work" and bill quite a bit more per hour on contracts. For me it makes no sense. If the argument was about DIY, I totally agree (I spend a ton of time working on my car and doing other things that would be cheaper to have someone else do)- but the OP was saying that the outlay of funds is just too great- that I don't agree with. However, to each his own. I already mentioned my solution for this problem, but after all the positive reviews he has gotten, I may try to find something to buy from him just because.

Remember- a smart business man finds what the market will bear and prices products accordingly. He would have had to front a decent amount for dev. Just something to think about: if you think your 968 is worth 15k and someone will give you 22k, you are going to take the 22k. (Que Men's Warehouse guy) I guarantee it.

lol

Sure - for someone whose time is worth more doing something else, then the choice is clear, and that is the case with many here. But for me personally, my time is worth very little monetarily... and more importantly, I love working on my car and doing things myself.

Bumper Plugs seems to be a well liked resource and I am by no means criticizing them. I was saying that I agree with the OP that $25 for plastic buttons is over-priced... but it goes back to the value of one's time, as you said... and also one's general propensity to spend or save money. I tend to value my dollar more than the average person so if I had to plug a couple of holes in my bumper I would rather spend a half-hour on Sunday and 20 cents than a minute and $25.

Anyway I'm not arguing, just answering the OPs question.

possibly the biggest rip off i have ever seen.
Perhaps you could just make your own.
Try adding up materials, labor, emails, phone calls, getting them to the shipper, shipping.

$25 seems cheap.

If you dont like the price, dont buy them.

You can always look at the holes and explain why they are there.

Well I am glad so many of you can afford these pieces. I guess I am just some one who would rather make my own part for a fraction of the cost and get the same result. Sorry I ever brought it up.

I did them on my 964 and TT. Bought 4 plugs for less then 50 cents. Had the paint already and in 10 minutes they were painted and ready to put on. Total cost less then a dollar in materials and time. I keep hearing that the paint doesnt stick to plastic so if it starts to crack i will go buy 4 more and repeat the process. Nobody but me will know I saved $49.50 well on second thought now the whole internet knows
