Default My '08 Turbo project- COMPLETED!`

well i have a 10+ page thread on the turbo board of my projects ive been working on the last few months, but i know some of my buddies over here dont cruise the turbo boards so i figured i would post up an abbreviated rundown of how things went.

After Sam Grant's turbo left my house w/ a fresh motor and turbo swap, i decided it was time to install some of the goodies ive been hoarding on the shelf onto my car. As things turn out you always end up spending more and doing more "while your in there" than you could ever plan for. My list now consists of...

Deleted torsion bars
525lb rear springs
Racer'sEdge lower coilover mounts
Schnell Short shift kit
ceramic rear pads to match the fronts
Powerhaus k27/8 turbo upgrade
Vitesse turbo inlet tube
Lindsey Racing - turbo outlet intercooler pipe- oil pan baffle-firebraid wires-blue silicone vac hose
Custom IC--> Intake pipe w/ HKS adjustable BOV HUGE!
www.siliconeintakes.com blue silicone boots
Pauertuning fuel lines and fuel pressure gauge
Full engine reseal kit w/ headgasket
new belts - all
Powdercoated intake/cambox/coolant lines/a/c braket/IC lines from
www.spitfirecustoms.com
Repaint under the hood
new sway bar bushings

last night i fired it up for the first time in a few months and its running perfectly. Drove it to the car wash today and cleaned off all the dust from the garage. Cant wait to get it broke in and get into some real boost!

Looks great.. get some pictures of it all finished too! Congrats.

No better feeling than when a personal project of that size is completed. Enjoy.

944cs- the HKS bov does not recirculate and i found out why thats not good today. Super rich during shifts and sometimes on boost. I had the stock IC pipe powdercoated as well and installed that w/ my old billet/blue recirc valve and that has pretty much straightened things up. Cant wait to get some real boost though- have to break in the rod bearings before i get on it too much.

So far im liking the k27/8- doesnt really seem like any more lag than the stock turbo- maybe less! Could be in my head- im going to do some zeitronix logs tonite and see where things are at so i can send them off to Russel and see what he thinks about the chips as is. All i know is i got on it one good time at about 16.8psi and she was crazy side ways and i was like OK thats enough...

Damn Dan, I always liked your cars, even when you had that guards red na back in the day. That things got to be alot of fun! So I take it you decided not to sell your car? (I remember that post from about a year ago) Good luck breaking in that new engine. looks like fun!
