Well, I've had my 86 951 for 5 months now, and last night picked up my first ticket. I was running down one exit on GA 400 and must have blown right past a state trooper without seeing him. He clocked me at 103 in a 65. Ouch. But at least he didn't clock me alone on the straight when I might have gone over 130.

My wife is furious and wants me to sell it.

Surprisingly my boss is furious too. I think he expects me to be a more responsible 35 year old father of 4. Should I sell, slow down, or get a radar detector?

Slow down on highways man & get a V1. Father of 4 needs to be around for his kids. Find some back roads that you can play on. The highway isn't the place for doing that kind of thing. Back roads.

It's no slow one- but definitely not as quick as my mitsu is. I'm enjoying the 944 life a bit more, anyway.

I have the Cobra 360 radar detector. It works good and I got it as a gift.

At 100 MPH+ a V-1 would not have helped. Too long to slow down and an accurate signal is easily dismissed as a false signal.

Get a lawyer. You might be looking at losing your license for speed over x above the posted speed.

It's going to cost you some money. Hopefully you can save the wife's wrath by spending some more money. Valentine's Day is just three days away.

It's a good opportunity to have her buy you a Valentine-1 for Valentine's Day.

Speeding on GA400 anywhere south of exit 16 = FAIL!
I'm not talking about how everyone does 80 anyway. 103 makes you stand out just a tad.

Also I second the advice to get a Lawyer. Anything over 25mph over the posted limit is criminal speeding in GA, and cops can take your license on the spot, impound your car, and arrest you. Consider yourself lucky. Get a V1.

At 35, I think you know the answer to your question. When I lost my license for a month after getting a ticket for 109, I deserved it. He could have taken me to jail and would have if he got me when I was going 150. It didn't matter there is no one on my side of the highway in the middle of nowhere between San Francisco and Los Angeles and clocked by a cop going the other direction across a 50 yd median. Break the law and pay the price. My insurance rate doubled instantly for all 4 cars. Now I go with the flow of traffic (yes punishment works) and haul *** all I want on the track.
