For those interested in racing in the 944 Cup race, but you dont have a license, a Comp School will be held on Friday and conducted by the mid-ohio School. . All drivers who have completed their paperwork and pass the school will be eligible to race the same weekend. Basically to get into the school, you need to be in the solo DE run groups.
Dave, I was planning on going through comp school in July at VIR. NASA requires you to run your first two weekends wihin the same region. Is there any way around this? I would prefer to do the school at VIR as I know the track so it wont be quite so overwhelming, but I think it would be cool to race at 944 fest.

Jason:
I'll do some checking for you. Will you be doing your first race weekend at VIR in July. One certain way around the requirement would be to race 4 races that weekend.
No pressure here, but we've never had a 944 driver fail the school. Yes, it's true a couple have been required to work a corner station as penance for blowing a flag or two, but they still raced the next day. You'll make it.
that video is awsome! i actually sold my n/a streetcar to Steve Randolph - wonder if he still has that. I would love to meet him at the fest at mid ohio- do you know if he's in the race this season?

Steve will be competing this year for the MidAtlantic Championship. The August Mid Ohio date is part of the Great Lakes Chapter where Steve is not likely to race unless he will be using it as a tune up for the Nationals the next month. You can be sure to see him then at MO.

Note to self... dont blow any flags during comp school...
