To sell...or not to sell...?
Hello everyone. I have had my 86' Porsche 944 N/A for about a year and a half now. It is in very good condition and has 110k miles on it. The car is beyond fun and it being my first car, I learned a significant amount about cars, let alone german engineering. The bad thing is, it is nickel and diming me to death, and it doesnt go in the snow very well here in PA. My ultimate question is if i were to sell my car what would be a good asking price for it? I tried to look for 944's in the area and what they were going for but not too many people have one. Thanks in advance!!

The average 944 can fetch somewhere between $2k and $3k. Nicer ones can get more, but probably not more than $4k tops. I bought my first 944 for $875; it was running and had no major body damage.

i understand that it is only worth what someone is willing to pay. I would just like to have some sort of average to stick to when somebody is trying to haggle me. Hear is everything about the car. It is an 86 944 NA. Guards Red exterior that was repainted 3 years ago, tan leather seats with Porsche written in the middle( not sport seats), its got 110k on the clock. The timing belts were recectly changed, a/c delete (although orig. a/c will be included with the car), the car has the factory sport suspension package, cruise control, and sunroof. I have replaced the slave cylinder, master cylinder, power steering rack, motor mounts, power steering pump, alot of stuff! I also have a folder that includes every receipt and maintenance ever done to the car, including original window sticker. Its got a magnaflow muffler test pipe cat and high flow cat( interchangable), 8mm plug wires. Thats about all i can think of off the top of my head haha. Please, what would a reasonable price be?

California seems to have the cheapest porsche prices. looking at craiglist I see lots of 928s also in for 2000-4000 dollars. Around here you can't fin da 928 for 2000 unless it's not running or in horrible shape.
Same with 944s here in BC nas go for about 4000-8000 in the papers anything less will most likely be a very early 944 and not in the nicest shape.
So just because in your state the cars sell for that cheap doesn't mean they sell for that cheap in the rest of the country.
in the summer I'm thinking of coming down to california to buy a 928.....

craiglist prices in my area.
I was also looking at the states close to me, in Seatle

now look at some cars in California. like this 928 would sell for twice as much as that here. Looks like for my next car I'll be heading down to california.

The history and recepits make your car worth more. If there are no cracks in the interior you should be able to get closer to the $3-4K mark.
Do an ebay search for what they've sold for in the past.

Look on eBay and Auto Trader.
Also, I know the prices aren't right on, but you can gauge value a little bit on the KBB website. I would only use it as a guide line.
