LOL, I saw that exact same car last year on craigslist for months and months, nobody would buy it, because it spun a rod bearing. I guess he just swapped engines and wants to get rid of it. That's a great price. Lart might ****** it.

Ya think the other engine was toast so he threw a new one in it?
I wonder how it drives... I've been looking for a turbo/'68.
Maybe I should just break down and buy the one in town, even though that would be the logical thing to do...

That $7500 one? I haven't seen it in person, but the pics look nice.
The original ad I saw months ago mentioned major engine failure. He was asking a low price, like $3500 or something. I guess nobody wanted it so he put a good engine in there (the new ad mentions it's an '86 with an '87 engine) so it can finally sell. I don't see anything wrong with that.

I wrote the guy to get a little more info on it. We'll see what he says. Too bad I didn't see it when it had the blown motor. It would have made a good donor for my 948 project.

ok, the guy wrote me back. (quick huh?)
Apparently it's not the same car that was seen with a spun bearing. Here's his letter back to me. If anyone wants his name/number, PM me. I don't think it cool to post that here.
This is car was not for sale a while back with a spun bearing, at least not in the last 1.5 years.
The car is basically stock with the exception of the 17" Complete Custom Wheels and performance chip. Recent clutch, front and rear shocks, battery and paint. It does not appear to have any previous frame repair or structure damage and the body is pretty darn straight . Interior is about average for a 22 year old car, dash has typical 944 cracks, drivers seat has a seat cover, nothing more than normal wear. A/C does not blow cold. Stock speakers, aftermarket cassette radio.
The car drives very nice, powerful, no smoke, no oil burning, engine is smooth and quiet, runs cool and starts right up. Engine is from a 1987 944T and has the proper engine ID code to validate this. The car runs and drives great and I would not hesitate to drive it daily, which I did for a couple of weeks. I will attach more pics.
The odo shows 169,000, which I know is not correct. I did a Carfax and that shows a history of 300,000, but I have no idea how accurate that is, but I was told that the odometer was from the same car the engine came from. The title is clean and NOT salvage and the car is currently not plated but a proper non-operation has been granted so its a matter of doing a smog, title transfer and registration.
I purchased this car in Nov 2007 for the purpose of making it a dedicated track car, however my situation has changed and I have to sell the car.

The car has $2K worth of CCW's on it although the centers look small compared to the rim size for some reason (16" center w/ 17" rim?). The mileage/odometer statement is very confusing to me.
17" CCW
17" CCW
