Good luck! That thing is a bastard to cover.

Are you using a kit?

I'm prayin' to the P-car gods for you :-) Especially as my dash is cracked and would look nice in leather... Want to see how you go first!

I emailed the fella at the 928 leather shop about their dash covers - apparently it requires a lot of carefull fitting, and a "custom bracket" below the dash to hold the back edge of the cover, plus they insert a trim piece into the vent on top to cover the edges of the leather too...

I'd you'll need to do a lot of careful measurements - and get really inventive around the vents and the glove box...

Good luck man!

I figured it would be. Nope, just using a really big piece of Ebony leather.

You are going to need some seams in that in order for it to work.

How do I do that? Also, can I just use a heat gun to take of the exsiting vinyl?

The old saying is measure twice, cut once- measure 10x, make sure your measurements are correct, make sure what you think the measurements should be is actually correct, measure a few more times.... then cut. And don't forget the supreme rule: post pics.

Well, i've tooken off all the old vinyl, but should I start recovering now? The leather dosn't show the cracks, it just covers them up. BUt if I did that would the dash be uneven?

I'd fill the cracks before I did it... but that's me.

Yup, get some some bondo, fill & sand. Make sure the edges of the cracks aren't raised.
