Default What is this?

When you look at the front of a 924s engine there is a little off-white plastic housing that looks like a hose should come off it. What the heck is it and what does it do?

If its the same plastic housing as on the 944, then its on the water pump and is a blanking plate. The hose connection can be punched out for turbo cooling, but is not used on non-turbo cars so it just sits there looking redundant.
