Feeler: 7.5" & 9" Cup IIs...are they in demand?
Hi all,
This is just a feeler as I am trying to gauge interest and decide whether or not I should keep them.
Having just refinished a set of twists, I have my Cup IIs sitting around the garage. I know the standard 7 & 9's go for $6-800 depending on condition. These have 7.5" wide fronts with 9" rears, but are a 993 part number.
These are in excellent shape (no scratches or curbing) and have Bridgestone Potenza SO-3 Pole Positions tires with many miles left on them (front and rear). They were refinished by the previous owner (I have the receipt). What do you guys think? I need to raise some funds for a new suspension! I saw a set in the classifieds that appeared to sell for $1400 + shipping?

I've seen them being sold for really high prices lately. Not sure if they get that.
They used to go for around $800, which was reasonable, now seems to be higher.
They are definitely in demand though. The front engine crowd like those ones.

If they are almost perfect (as they appear) I'd go for them over the cheap aftermarket wheels out there- but I already have some. I think mine were $1000 new, but I got them from a boxster owner a few months after he decided to turn his car in.

Factory wheels are lighter and stronger than aftermarket versions of the same model, even from the same manufacturer.
Also, the 993 factory Cup 2 wheels are highly desirable for 944 applications, as they are even lighter than the factory M030 Cup 1s.
Nice wheels!

I would think you guys will find buyers eventually. Be patient, they are great wheels for the series, someone will eventually have the $$. The fact that there are tires on the ones above make the initial investment not as difficult. I got my wheels for only 400 (guy just wanted to clear them out- they were perfect) but paid almost twice that for tires.
