Damn, almost $43,000 in 1987!! What was the total Ben?
Yeah, seems like alot for a 944! I have a photocopy of the window sticker that someone made before the original got so torn up that shows it the actual total so I'll check. I also have records that show what the original owner actually paid. Can't remember the exact number, but let's just say the purchase price was HEAVILY discounted, which I have heard was pretty typical for these cars when they were sold new. Do you still have your window sticker?

My new project 88' 951 had the original window sticker in the glovebox and the total was $40,940.

Seems like I remember someone posted a picture of their window sticker not too long ago for theirs and it was close to 48k.

No, sadly its about the only thing I dont have for the car. IIRC it was around 32-34k and was ordered when the turbo was first announced to the public so Im betting sticker price was paid. Thats awesome you have that, big number for a 1987 car!

Yeah, it does seem like alot of money, even by today's standards. It would be interesting to know what the turbo S and 89 cars were listed for. I Would think it was quite a bit more than the standard turbos. Anybody know?

Bump for an old thread but I just picked up a 87 951 with the full leather interior. Seats, doors, console and dash.

Oddly those are the only 'different' options. Sun roof, cruise and the radio are the only others.

I'll post pics soon.

My 87 NA is a lightly optioned car, doesn't even have the rear wiper or central locking but it does has something like $3400 in leather options.

I wish the upper dash was in better shape, the lower dash and the rest of the leather is in near perfect shape. Most of the parts will be in my car by the end of tonight.

The paint and body however is trashed, it looks like someone tried to wax it with 300 grit sand paper.

50k mile car, 1 owner.

Sad.

How much do you want to see?

I pulled the drivers side door and it is mint.

Sorry for the bad pics if you want anything hires I can do them in a week or so.

The interior is pretty dirty but I see no damage only some carpet fading.

Some pics of the paint damage and of the option sticker.

Also note the factory relief in the leather on the door card.

Odometer and reset sticker.

49+8.5=57.5k miles I thought it was closer to 50k but whatever.

Carfax supports the numbers.

Also the Porsche floor mats.

From the few leather dashes I've seen, it looks like only the lower half is leather. The '86 parts car I had didn't have the lower dash in leather, but it did have a leather glovebox door (the interior was burgundy). It had script seats and the standard vinyl door cards and center console. I recovered the glovebox door and used it in my '87 because the original leather had mold growing on it, but the plastic door stops were in perfect shape.

Doug - what are you doing with the rest of the car? If you're parting it out, I may be interested in some of it. Other than the paint and the nose panel, how does the rest of the body look? Are the doors and front fenders in good shape? Any rust?

Josh, Hal's race car has full leather. The seats aren't there, but the rest of it is. If you come to the DE in August, it will probably be there.
